An annoying period in any game, a Thermonuclear Card Winter is when the playing field is left barren after the use of too many card-removing effects; particularly Blast Cards. Even worse, they are easier to propagate than create, leading to a boring game, as most of the fun comes from currently played cards interacting in unforeseen ways.
